Petition in Chancery by Henry Bradshaw of Bowden, co. Derby, yeoman, for a warrant, in that he and his ancestors peaceably possessed a meadow in the said township of Bowden called Holmedowe until 28 August 14 (Henry VII), when Raynold [Reginald] Legh of Blackbrook with 7 or 8 persons entered the said meadow and put in 40 oxen and beasts and kept them there until they had wasted the grass growing there, and that as the said Henry cannot obtain redress by common law the said Raynold should be ordered to appear before the court; [added in another hand] and the said Raynold to give security of £100 not to depart from this court.
