Bond, £100, from Thomas Savage of Castleton, co. Derby, to William Bradshawe of Marple, co. Chest., gentlemen, the condition being that where Margaret Howe, daughter of Roger Howe late of of Ashop, co. Derby, yeoman, and Godfrey Bradshawe, son and heir apparent of the said William, by the procurement of their near friends were married in their infancy, and where now the said Godfrey does not agree with the said Margaret whereby controversy is likely to arise between the friends of both the parties, for the avoiding of which the said Margaret Howe will observe the award made by John Davenport of Chadkirk, co. Chest., John Savage of Edale, Ellis Staley of Castleton, and George Bawden of Chapel en le Frith, co. Derby, gentlemen, arbiters elected by the said Godfrey and Margaret to enable them to 'contynew lovyngly together as man & wyff', and to judge what goods, household stuff and money the said William Bradshawe shall restore to the said Thomas Savage to the use of the said Margaret.
