Assignment, for £120, by William Stafford of The Bottoms, co. Derby, gentleman, to Francis Bradshawe of Bradshaw, co. Derby, esquire, of the remainder of the term of a lease, by which John Mannors then of Haddon in the said county, esquire, by indenture bearing date 10 January 38 Elizabeth (1596) demised to the said William Stafford all his shop or warehouse in the town of Bakewell, co Derby, in the market place there and then newly built at the costs of the said William, for 80 years, if the said William and Lucy his wife or either of them should so long live, at the yearly rents therein contained; and of the remainder of the term of another lease by which George Sutton of Over Haddon, co Derby, esquire by an indenture dated 8 January 14 James I (1617) demised to the said William Stafford a cottage or tenement in Bakewell, with a close of land called Little Church Yard, then in the tenure of the said William, from the feast of the Annunciation of Our Lady next after the date of the said last recited indenture, for a term of 60 years.
