Memoranda, in 2 different hands and inks, of a suit between John Creswall and George Lingard, for transgression and ejection from lands in Chinley. The plaintiff is lessee to Francis Bradshaw, Pawle [Paul] Bradshaw and William Bradshaw, younger sons of Peter Bradshaw, deceased, etc. Descent of the land in Chinley from the purchase 23 February, 21 James I, by Peter Bradshawe and Francis Bradshawe esquires, to them and the heirs of Peter, who devised by will (of 23 May 1625) one 'neighbourshipp and a haulfe' in Chinley to the use of William, youngest son and now one of the lessors for his life, and then his 5 sons to inherit successively, with remainders; to Francis his 3rd son, one other of the lessors, one other 'neighbourship' in Chinley, for life, and then as above; to William, his youngest son aforesaid, one other 'neighbourship'' to Pawle Bradshaw his 4th son, one other of the lessees, one other 'neighbourship'. Ever after the purchase, the said Francis under whom the defendant claims had possession and made several leases to divers tenants. George Bradshaw, gentleman, being brother to the said Francis, holds the same by covenants. Edward Bradshaw, eldest son of the said Peter, after the death of his father, released to Francis Bradsahw the joint purchaser; after the demise Peter the testataor in his lifetime and the said Francis in his lifetime sold 2 'neighbourshipps' (bequeathed as aforesaid) to Gladwines. 'The thing in question wheare the ejectment was made is onely one Close in the possession of Charles Lingard the defendant's son, who is lessee for 60 years to come or thereaboutes'.Short pedigree, from Godfrey Bradshaw, with 2 sons, Francis (with sons Francis, obit sine prole, and George), and Peter (with sons Edward, Francis, Paul and William).That Francis by will of 3 September 1632 devised to Francis one of the lessess [...] 'neighbourship'. Francis then to use by indenture 31 July 8 Charles (1632) to himself and the heirs of his body upon the body of William issuing, remainder to the George Bradshaw under whom the defendants claim.Other memoranda.
