Marriage Settlement made between Francis Bradshaw the elder of Eyam, co. Derby, gentleman, and John Davenport of Davenport, co. Chest., gentleman, in consideration of a marriage already solemnized between Francis Bradshawe the younger, son and heir apparent of the said Francis the elder, and Barbara Davenport, one of the daughters of the said John, and for a jointure for the said Barbara, whereby the said Francis will make an estate in fee simple to Sir Richard Wilbraham of Woodley, co. Chest., knight, and to the said John Davenport of his manors and lands in Abney, Hope, Eyam, Foolow, Hucklow, Cutthorpe, Bradshaw, Chapel en le Frith and Bowden in the said county, namely in the manor of Abney, and the messuages and lands in the aforesaid parishes, to the use of the said Francis the elder for his life, and afterwards to the use of the said Francis the younger and his heirs, and in default of such issue to the heirs males of the said Francis the elder; and also in the mansion house called the Bradshawe and other lands in Bradshaw, Chapel en le Frith and Bowden, to the use of the said Francis the younger and Barbara his wife and the heirs of their bodies for and in lieu of the jointure of the said Barbara, and in default of such issue, to the heirs of the body of the said Francis the younger, remainder to the right heirs of the said Francis the elder; and if the said Francis the younger should die before the said Barbara and before Emma Bradshaw, widow, mother of the said Francis Bradshaw the elder, then the said Barbara, during the joint lives of herself and Emma, may have a yearly annuity of £20 out of the lands in Eyam aforesaid.
