Marriage Settlement by way of a Grant by Francis Bradshaw of Eyam, co. Derby, esquire, to William Vescie of Whitwell, co. Derby, gentleman, John Harrison of Brewell, co. York, gentleman, and Henry Bradshawe of Marple, co. Chest., esquire, and in consideration of a marriage shortly to be had between the said Francis and Elizabeth Vescie, eldest daughter of John Vescie late of Brampton, co. York, esquire, deceased, and of a competent jointure in lieu of a claim of dower, of those messuages and lands lying in Chinley, in the parish of Glossop, co. Derby, now or late in the several tenures of Lawrence Brearly, Edward Greene, James Low, George Lingard, William Bennett, Edward Lingard, Henry Bowden, Thomas Bennett, Thomas Oliver, Edward Bowden, Robert Gee and John Ashton, and also those messuages and lands in Hucklow in the parish of Tideswell, co. Derby, now or late in the several tenures of John Wilson, Thomas Bagshaw, John Bennett, Robert Shaw, Richard Bocken, Thomas Frost and Thomas Stayley, and all those messuages and lands lying in Britton in the said parish of Eyam, in whose tenures whosoever they be, and also those grounds called Britton Edge and Clough being in Bretton aforesaid, and also those messuages and lands lying in 'Bosterfeild' [Broster Field], co. Derby, and now or late in the tenure of the said Francis Bradshaw, John Crawshaw and Grace Moreton, widow, to hold to the use of the said Francis during his life, then to Elizabeth Vescie and after her death to the children of the same, in default of such issue to the right heirs of the said Francis, such premises to be of the yearly value of £100; and the said Francis covenants he will provide any further necessary assurances during the next 7 years, at the cost of Alice Vescie, mother of the said Elizabeth.
