Lease, for nine and a half years and for £120, from Catherine [of Braganza], queen-dowager of England, Henry [Hyde, 2nd] earl of Clarendon, and William Mountagu, esquire, the now only surviving trustees of the premises hereafter mentioned, to David Rowlands of the parish of St Martins in the Fields, co. Midd., esquire, at the yearly rent of £49.5s.10d. of lands [described] being parcel of the manor of Marden alias Mawarden, co. Heref.At the end of the second membrane is written - This contains a Lease in Reversion to David Rowlands of the demesne lands of the manor of Marden allias Mawarden, co. Hereford for 9 and a half years from 22 August 1708, under the yearly rent of £49.5s.10d. And is for the sum of £120. And is done by virtue of your Majesty's pleasure as signified to me by Sir Richard Bellinge, knight, your Majesty's Principal Secretary. Dated 24 February 1686[7]; February 28, 1686[7], Ja: Butler. March 4th, 1686/7, Reese Preston. By Her Majesty's command, R. Belling.
