Defeasance by John Blackwall of Derby, gentleman, of a Bond of George Agard of Osleston, co. Derby, gentleman, for £200, by way of a statute merchant made in the borough of Derby before Richard Porter and Thomas Fisher, Bailiffs of the said borough, and Robert Alsope, Clerk of the said statutes there, on condition that Mathew Bate of Derby, draper, may during the term of 21 years quietly occupy the third part of the closes and grounds called Buckhilles in Dalbury and Dalbury Lees, co. Derby, demised to the said Mathew by the said George Agard, and the said George cause to be paid to Gervase Brunley of Brumley, co. Nott., esquire, £9.5s. on the feast day of St James the Apostle next coming at the now dwelling house of Thomas Stringer in Derby aforesaid, in full discharge of an obligation of the date of these presents, wherein the said George and John stand bound to the said Gervase in the sum of £18, and that the said George shall pay to the said John Blackwall £14.8s. on the feast day of St Michael the archangel next coming, and that the said George shall on the 1st November next coming pay to the said John, if he be living, £48, at the now dwelling house of the said Mathew Bate; upon which the said bond will be void.
