Marriage Settlement between John Byrde of Nether Locko, co. Derby, gentleman, and William Coke of Trusley, whereby the said John confirms his lease to Robert Fytzherbert [Fitzherbert] of Tissington, esquire, the said William Coke, gentleman, Richard Coke, Francis Coke and John Coke, of the manor of Nether Locko with appurtances, in trust to the use of the said John Byrde for 90 years and then to the use of the wife or children of the said John Byrde; provided that the said John Byrde may during the said term give to the use of his wife lands to the annual value of 5 marks, and his feoffees likewise after his death; and provided that if Elizabeth Coke, the daughter of the said William Coke, shall die without issue begotten with the said John Byrde, then this deed to be void, as the present deed is made in contemplation of a marriage between the said John Byrde and Elizabeth Coke, daughter of the said William Coke.
