Indenture of Marriage Settlement between George Curzon of Croxall, co. Derby, esquire, and George Curzon son and heir apparent of of Croxall, co. Derby, esquire, and Dame Mary Leveson of Trentham, co. Staff., widow, that where a marriage has already been had between the said George Curzon the younger and Mary, daughter of the said Dame Mary, now the said George the elder will convey to and Sir Edward Fytton, knight, and Thomas Gresley, Walter Leveson and Humfrey Dethicke, esquires, the manor of Croxall, co. Derby, the rectory and parsonage of Croxall and the advowson of the vicarage there, and the lands and closes [named] thereto belonging, and also his manors, lordships, townships and lands in Croxall and Catton in co. Derby, in Edingale, in the cos. of Derby and Stafford, and in Ockley, co. Staff., to the use of the said George the elder for life (except 2 leases in Croxall to Roger Kensall and John Chigge) and except an estate in several parcels of ground as Katherine, wife of the said George has in jointure, and an annuity granted by the said George to William Curzon, younger son of the said George, from the said manor of Croxall, and lands in Croxall the jointure of the said Mary, the daughter, an annuity of £20 granted to Henry Curzon, another son of the said George, an annuity of 400 marks granted to Thomas Burdett and Christopher Horton for the use of Bridget Curzon, one other daughter of the said George for 3 years, an annuity of £200 granted to Randall Mauntringe and Edward Edgerton esquires to the use of the daughters of the said George the younger and Mary his wife. Defeasance of a Bond by George Curzon the father to the said Dame Mary in the sum of £3,000 for due performance, dated September, 22 Elizabeth [1580].
