FRANZ JOSEPH HAYDN: ‘Oratorio, Le sette ultime Parole del Redentore al croce’ (words, Josef Friebert and Gottfried van Swieten, freely translated by Guiseppe Carpani); early 19th cent. Score of the version for soprano, alto, tenor and bass soloists, four-part chorus and orchestra of ‘Die sieben letzten Worte unseres Erlösers am Kreuze’, Hob.XX/2. Copy, in Italian; the words from the cross are in Latin. Written in ink, in the same hand throughout, on paper ruled variously with ten, twelve, fourteen and sixteen staves. Inscribed ‘Eug[ène] Manson, 10 Fg St Honoré’ (f. ii), and bearing his stamp as ‘organiste accompag[nateur] de la Madeleine’ on several pages. With a list of watermarks (f. 150) and a partial collation diagram (f. 151), both in Tyson’s hand. Published Leipzig: Breitkopf & Härtel, [1801].
