1. ff. 1-5. Correspondence relating to a letter of 1790 from Clemens August von Schall to Amtsgerichtsrath Degen revealing that the author of the text of Beethoven’s early cantata WoO 87 (and apparently 88 too) was S. A. Averdonk; 1899. f. 1 is a letter from the musicologist Hermann Deiters to Degen asking to see the letter in his possession. ff. 2-4 are a correspondence between Degen and his son, reaching the decision that the letter should be shown to Deiters. f. 5 is a card from Felix Hauptmann thanking Degen for showing him the same letter.
