Foliation: ff 280 (+ 3 unfoliated paper and 1 parchment flyleaves at the beginning and at the end).
Dimensions: 135 x 105 (80 x 60) mm.
Ruling: Leroy D 54D1pq, 20 lines (ff 1-278), 19-21 lines (ff 279-280).
Decoration: Architectural headpiece in colours, silver, and gold with a pediment and four columns and an initial in red, silver, and gold (f 4r). Headpiece and initial in colours and gold (f 130r). Headpiece and initial in colours (f 220r). Rubrics and capitals in red.
Binding: Red morocco gilt in 'Harleian' style by Chapman (rebacked).

Origin: Eastern Mediterranean.
Provenance:
ff 79, 271-278 are replacements, possibly dating to the 14th century.
ff 279-280 are written in a 14th- or 15th-century hand.
Crossed-out Latin ex-libris in 15th-century hand (last flyleaf).
Inscribed by Nicolas Le Febvre (1588-1653) Ἀδελφὸς ὁ Νικόλαος φαβηρ ἐκ τῆς τάξεως τῶν Κηρύττωντων 1617 (ff 1r, 4r).
Nathaniel Noel (fl. 1681, d. c. 1753), bookseller, employed by Edward Harley for buying books and manuscripts chiefly on the Continent, where his agent was George Suttie: sold to Harley on 13 August 1724 (see Fontes p. 255).
The Harley Collection, formed by Robert Harley (b. 1661, d. 1724), 1st earl of Oxford and Mortimer, politician, and Edward Harley (b. 1689, d. 1741), 2nd earl of Oxford and Mortimer, book collector and patron of the arts, inscribed as usual by their librarian, Humfrey Wanley ‘13 die mensis Augusti, A.D. 1724’ (f [iv]).
Edward Harley bequeathed the library to his widow, Henrietta Cavendish, née Holles (b. 1694, d. 1755) during her lifetime and thereafter to their daughter, Margaret Cavendish Bentinck (b. 1715, d. 1785), duchess of Portland; the manuscripts were sold by the Countess and the Duchess in 1753 to the nation for £10,000 (a fraction of their contemporary value) under the Act of Parliament that also established the British Museum; the Harley manuscripts form one of the foundation collections of the British Library.
