D. Letters (10) from Vaughan Williams to Mrs Joyce Hooper (née Gayford), with a letter from W. L. Streeton of the B.B.C. to Mrs Hooper, and a newspaper cutting; 1939-58. Partly autograph, partly typewritten, signed; one in Adeline Vaughan Williams’s hand, signed by the composer. Mrs Hooper was founder of the Surrey Opera and Redhill Bach Choir and conductor of the Dorking Oriana Choir, and these letters chiefly concern concert engagements. Presented by Mrs Joyce Hooper MBE, 7 Oct. 1998.
