A. Letters and postcards (99) from Ralph and Ursula Vaughan Williams to the organist and choirmaster Herbert Byard and his wife Noelle; circa 1946 – 1979. The 25 letters from Ralph Vaughan Williams (ff. 1-27) are photocopies, mainly of autograph and some of typewritten, signed letters; those from Ursula Vaughan Williams are autograph, two of them also signed by Ralph Vaughan Williams. With two typewritten carbon copies of letters from Mrs Noelle Byard (ff. 106-7). Purchased at Sotheby’s, 2 Dec. 1993 (lot 530).
