H. in remembrance of the Russian seasons at Drury Lane, and of happy evenings spent there’ (ff. 37v-38). Dated 14 Nov. 1915 (f. 22v), 1917 (f. 23), 4 July 1916 (f. 59).
2. ff. 60-86. ‘Rhapsody On Negro Folk-Tunes’, for full orchestra; August 1919. Full score. Dedicated ‘To M. Henri Verbrugghen’ (f. 60).
3. ff. 87-94. Cadenza for the first movement of Beethoven’s piano concerto no.3 in C minor, op.37; 1941. Dedicated ‘For Jackie [Henderson], Vancouver 1941’ (f. 87). With a printed concert programme for a performance of the concerto; 1945.
4. ff. 95-107. ‘Divertimento on Themes by Gluck’, for oboe and string orchestra; 1950. Reduction for oboe and piano, with engraver’s markings. ‘Freely adapted from various movements from Six Sonatas for Two Violins and figured bass Published in London in 1746.’ Full score and piano reduction published Hawkes & Son, 1952.
