2. ff. 11-29. [‘Practical Cats, an entertainment for children’] (words, T. S. Eliot), for speaker and orchestra; [1954]. Incomplete draft short score, in pencil. A further short score and full score are in the Rawsthorne Archive. Commissioned by the Edinburgh Festival Committee. Published 1955.
3. ff. 30-40. ‘Mediaeval Diptych’ (words anonymous), for baritone and orchestra; [1962]. Sketches and draft short score, in pencil. The full score is in the Rawsthorne Archive. First performed at the Proms in August 1962.
4. ff. 41-8. ‘He Does Not Die’ (words, Hilaire Belloc), for mixed chorus and two pianos; [1964]. Score, in pencil. Written for George Watson’s College, Edinburgh.
