1. ff. 1-7r. Elisabeth Lutyens: three songs (words, Teresa Tanner), for baritone and piano, op.37; 1957. Pencil score. Two of these songs, together with four others, were published in 1965 as In the Temple of a Bird’s Wing. There are minor differences, chiefly of phrasing and expression marks, between the songs here and in the published edition.
2. ff. 8-26. Lutyens: ‘and suddenly it’s evening’ (words, Salvatore Quasimodo, translated by Jack Bevan), for tenor and chamber ensemble, op. 65 (afterwards op. 66); 1966. Untitled pencil score with words in English only. See also Add. 64651-64654. Commissioned by the BBC. Published Schott, 1970, with words in Italian and English.
3. ff. 27-37r. George Newson: ‘The six of us’, for violin, clarinet, horn, cello and piano; 1968. Dyeline copy of the autograph score, with autograph dedication to Glock. Commissioned by the Dartington Summer School of Music.
4. ff. 38-53. Luigi Nono: ‘Canciones a Guiomar’ (words, Antonio Machado), for soprano, percussion and strings; 1962. Dyeline copy with autograph dedication ‘per Anne e William Glock, Luigi Nono, 24 12 1962’. Spanish. First performed at Dartington Summer School of Music.
5. f. 54r. Goffredo Petrassi: ‘La morte dell’aria’; 1949. The first ten bars only, written out in short score.
6. ff. 55-81r. Josep Mestres i Quadreny: ‘Tres Movimientos para Orquestra’; 1961. The second movement has a few additions and corrections in blue pencil.
