MS Mus. 1537. Terence Rees Collection: ‘Princess Toto. Comic Opera in Three Acts;’ circa 1876-1879. Autograph full score. The score includes revisions and new numbers added for a New York production in 1879. These are on inserted loose leaves. The changes, which do not appear in the published vocal score, are: (1) ff. 4-6. Prelude, Act 1; - (2) ff. 54-57. Finale, Act 1; - (3) ff. 63-66. Prelude, Act 2; - (4) ff. 77-79. Brigands’ chorus, cue ‘At 6 o’clock we start’; - (5) ff. 80-83. Song. Toto. Cue, ‘One is only married to really handsome men in dreams’; - (6) ff. 121-124. Finale, Act 2; - (7) ff. 129-130. First chorus, Act 3. On the front cover is stamped the name of Kate Santley, who was the producer and played the title role in the first production. The title page is initialled and dated by the librettist, ‘W. S. G. 12/7/77.’
