Autograph full score, in black ink, 43 ff. (title-page and pp. 1-61), with occasional additions and deletions in pencil and blue pencil (e.g. ff. 11v, 15, 30r, 32r).
Pasted-down corrections: ff. 18, 20, 21 (two corrections), ff. 23, 24, 25 (two corrections), ff. 29, 39, 41.
Folios 33v and 36r are blank, at which loosely inserted is the (unpaginated) Cadenza (1 bifolium).
Signed on the title-page and on f. 2, and dated at the end of the work. Dedicated to Benjamin Britten on the title-page.
First performance: London, Queen's Hall, 6 September 1940. Lennox Berkeley and William Glock (pianos), London Symphony Orchestra, cond. Henry Wood.
