(1). ff. i, 1-57. Nelson Suite, [Op. 42]. Undated autograph score, in blue ink (stamped 'J. & W. Chester Ltd.'). Title-page and pp. 1-61. Signed on f. 2. Performance markings in pencil. Includes pasted-down corrections: ff. 3, 20, 24-28, 30, 32, 36-37, 40, 42-43, 45-42, 54,-55, 57.
First performance: Cheltenham, Town Hall, 29 July 1955. The Hallé Orchestra, cond. John Barbirolli.
(2). ff. 58-71. Concertino for recorder, violin, cello and harpsichord, Op. 49. Autograph score, in blue and black ink with pencil additions. Outer bifolium enclosing pp. 1-23. Signed on f. 59 and dated 'July-August 1955' at the end of the work. Opus number 49 has been struck through in pencil and 'op 48' added in pencil, although the work is Opus 49 in the Catalogue Raisonné (Craggs, 2000). In addition to the score, the final page of the outer bifolium contains unidentified pencil sketch material. Dedicated to Carl Dolmetsch.
