(1). ff. 1-28. Sonata for violin and piano (No. 1). Copyist manuscript, in black ink (with performance additions in pencil), pp. 1-25, in its original green boards. Dedicated to Gladys Bryans (p. 1). Dated '1931' at the end of the score (18-stave paper, 365 x 262 mm). Pasted-down corrections: ff. 4, 9-10, 13-15, 17-18, 21, 23-27.
(2). ff. 29-32. Three pieces for clarinet [c 1932]. Undated autograph score, in black ink (1 bifolium, 12-stave paper, 345 x 270 mm). Signed on p. [1]. Two pasted-down corrections, ff. 31-32. On f. 30v, a much later autograph pencil sketch (4-bar melody, with words) for 'Sonnet', Op. 102 (1982).
(3). ff. 33-55. Sonata for violin and piano (No. 2), Op. 1 [1933]. Undated autograph score, in black ink. Outer bifolium enclosing pp. 1-26 (12-stave paper, 330 x 270 mm). Dedicated to Nadia Boulanger on the front cover, and signed on f. 33. Pasted-down corrections: ff. 38, 40-42, 44, 47, 54.
(4). ff. 56-67. Suite for flute, oboe and piano [1935]. Signed incomplete autograph score in black ink, Prelude only (2 bifolia, 28-stave paper, 365 x 270 mm). With flute and oboe parts in copyists' hands.
(5). ff. 68-80. Sonatina for recorder (or flute) and piano, Op. 13. Autograph score, in blue ink and black ink. Outer bifolium, enclosing pp. 1-9 (28-stave paper, 355 x 265 mm). Signed on front cover and on p. 1. Dated at the end of the score: 'April-May 1939'. Pasted-down corrections: ff. 72-73, 75. 4. Also, autograph recorder part, in black ink. 1 bifolium (18-stave paper, 355 x 255 mm), signed on f. 79.
(6). ff. 81-92. Sonatina for violin and piano, Op. 17. Published score (J. & W. Chester Ltd., 1945), with some annotations in pencil. Dedicated to Gladys Bryans.
(7). ff. 93-105. Trio for violin, viola and cello, Op. 19. Autograph score, in blue ink and black ink, with editorial annotations in red ink (18-stave paper, 365 x 270 mm). Front orange paper cover (J. & W. Chester Ltd), but lacking back cover: pp. 1-17 (score) followed by pencil sketch on p. [18]. Score concludes with a 4-bar correction, in pencil, loosely attached. In addition, a two-page (1 folio) pencil draft (24-stave paper, 367 x 267 mm).

- Item 9 (Sonata in D minor, Op. 22) - the photocopies were supplied by John White to Michael Berkeley in 2009. They were supplied to White by his viola teacher, Watson Forbes, to whom the work is dedicated. The original manuscript is at the Primrose International Viola Archive, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah.
