(1). ff. 1-83. Three Latin Motets, Op. 83, no. 1. For five unaccompanied voices (S.S.A.T.B.). Texts: from Psalm 140 (1), and the Antiphon for the BVM (2 and 3).

  • ff. Title bifolium with autograph score in 3 sections following, each in black ink. The bifolium (of later date, title in blue ink) includes a pencil sketch of 3rd movement of String Quartet by Sheila Lennox Robertson, her signature on f. 2. Berkeley's autograph score follows, each section 12-stave paper, 300 x 243 mm. (I). 'Eripe me, Domine', pp. 1-8 (ff. 3-9). Signed (f. 3), dated 'April 1972' (f. 7v), with pasted-down corrections on ff. 6, 8-9. (II). 'Veni sponsa Christi', pp. 1-4 (ff. 10-13). Signed (f. 10), with pasted-down corrections, ff. 12-13. (III). 'Regina coeli laetare', pp. 1-10 (ff. 14-50). Dated 'May-June 1972' on p. 10 (f. 46v). Pasted-down corrections, ff. 15-17, 19-25, 27-33, 35-40, 41-45, 47-49).
  • ff. 51-56. Pencil sketch for (I) 'Eripe me, Domine'.
  • ff. 57-59. Pencil sketch for (II) 'Veni sponsa Christi'.
  • ff. 60-68. Pencil sketches for (III) 'Regina coeli laetare'
  • ff. 69-71. Autograph letter signed from George Guest (St. John's College, Cambridge), 1 May 1986, to Lady Berkeley, regarding the text set which 'differs from the photo-copied one you sent me' (photocopy with letter).
  • ff. 72-83. Unmarked published score (Chester, 1974): J.W.C. 8895.

(2). ff. 84-91. 'Hymn for Shakespeare’s Birthday', Op. 83, no. 2. For mixed chorus and organ. Words: C. Day-Lewis. Autograph score, in black ink (16-stave paper, 290 x 270 mm). Outer bifolium enclosing pp. 1-6. Signed on f. 85, and dated '1972' at the end of the score. Pasted-down corrections: ff. 86, 88, 90-91.

(3). ff. 92-101. ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’, Op. 91, no. 1. Anthem for treble solo, choir and organ. Text: from Psalm 23.

  • ff. 92-95. Autograph score, in black ink with pencil annotation (20-stave paper, 368 x 270 mm). Outer bifolium (with title) enclosing pp. 1-6. Signed on f. 93, and dated 'April 1975' at the end of the score.
  • ff. 96-97. Pencil draft.
  • ff. 98-101. Pencil sketch material (2 ff. and 1 bifolium).

(4). ff. 102-141. ‘The Hill of the Graces’, Op. 91, no. 2. Motet for unaccompanied mixed double chorus. Words: Edmund Spenser (from The Faerie Queene, Book VI, Canto X).

  • ff. 102-120. Autograph score, in black ink and including some pencil sketches and annotations (20-stave paper, 367 x 270 mm), pp. 1-20. Signed on f. 102, and dated 'Summer 1975' at the end of the score. Dedication: 'To Nicholas' [Berkeley]. Pasted-down corrections: ff. 103, 106-107, 110-112, 115-116, 118.
  • ff. 121-129. Pencil draft (24-stave paper, 402 x 265 mm), pp. 1-17. Dated on f. 129v 17: 'July 9th / 75'
  • ff. 130-141. Sketch material (12 ff.).

(5). ff. 142-145. 'Grace', for the Merchant Taylors' Company [c 1975]. Unaccompanied, for S.A.T.B.

  • ff. 142-143. Autograph score, in black ink (1 bifolium, 365 x 270 mm). Signed at the head of the score. Dedication: 'To John Reigate'.
