Catalogue of the Society’s music library; circa 1823, with additions to [1834]. William Goodwin’s copy of the engraved catalogue (see RPS MS 392), returned to the Society from Messrs Goodwin & Tabb, 1913 (f. 1v); beneath Calkin’s name on the title-page Goodwin has added in MS ‘To 1828 / afterwards W. Goodwin’. ff. 1v and 3r stamped with the name ‘Goodwin’. In this copy the sections occupy the following folios: Symphonies (ff. 2v-15r), Overtures (ff. 15v-24v), Vocal (ff. 25r-36r), Scores of Operas, etc. (ff. 36v-38v), Scores of Symphonies (ff. 39r-42v), Scores of Overtures (ff. 43r-47r), Piano music (f. 47v), Miscellaneous (f. 48r and v, continued in MS on a fly-leaf, f. 49r). Additions to all sections have been made by Goodwin, with a few earlier in what may be Calkin’s hand. RPS MS 392 is the Directors’ copy of this catalogue, interleaved and more extensively annotated.
