Classified list of vocal works performed at Philharmonic Society concerts, 1813-1853, compiled by Joseph Calkin; 1854. With an elaborate title-page by Calkin dedicating the volume to ‘the present and future Directors’ of the Society (f. 1r). Arranged by soprano (and alto or mezzo-soprano) solos (ff. 2r-10v), tenor solos (ff. 11r-13v), bass solos (ff. 14r-16v), duets – quintets (ff. 18r-28v), and miscellaneous items (ff. 30r-32r). Entered in the same hand throughout on specially ruled paper, giving title (or text incipit), opera, etc., from which the piece comes, composer, concert, season, year and names of singers; within each category the order is alphabetical by title or first line. Catalogue numbers and musical incipits are not given.
