The MS. ends at the end of H-G., p. 48, line 5, bar 1. The last four leaves of the work will be found in Eg. 2953, ff. 98-101, which contain a long recitative for Polifemo (not in H-G.), the Finale ‘Chi ben ama’, and the date: ‘Napoli li 16 di Giugnio [sic]. 1708. d’Alvito.’.
Points of note:
1. f. 1. ‘[Cant]ata a 3. Aci. Galathea e Polifemo’ [Squire suggests [Seren]ata].
2. f. 33. A note in the hand of F. Nicolai.
3. f. 42v. ‘E poi ch’io mora’ (not ‘morirò’, as in H-G., p. 34, line 6).
4. f. 48v. ‘Giunsi al fin’ (not ‘quinsi’, as in H-G., p. 40, line 1).
5. f. 59. A note in the hand of F. Nicolai.
