In Acts I and II the MS. agrees with Version A in H-G. The recitatives in Act II, sc. 1 and 2 (H-G., pp. 40-42) are on ff. 65 and 45. The arrangement of the MS for Act III is as follows: ff. 81-83 (HG., pp. 168-175); ff. 83v-84 (H-G., p. 191-192); ff. 85-115 (H-G., pp. 78-117). f. i is a note by F. Nicolai (‘This opera is very imperfect’). ff. 28v, 44v, 126v, 137v, 141v, 143v and 148v are ruled with staves but otherwise blank. See also R.M.20.d.2. (ff. 28-30); for copies see Add. Points of note:
1. f. 6. Act I, sc. 1. ‘Sommi Dei’. There are a few alterations (in red ink).
2. ff. 7-8. The recitatives as originally written are cut extensively.
3. f. 14. Sc. 3. Recitatives for Fraarte and Tiridate (before the entrance of Farasmene) have been cancelled.
4. ff. 33-35v. The original words of ‘Mirerò’ (beginning ‘Umiliata a piedi tuoi’) have been crossed out throughout the air.
5. ff. 37-41v. Sc. 13. The words of the second part of ‘Dopo torbide procelle’ (on f. 41) are: ‘Son piu lucide le stelle alla notte oscura in sen’. Those in H-G., p. 38 are not in the MS.
6. f. 46. An inserted leaf with a note by F. Nicolai: ‘Here there two leaves are misplaced’.
7. f. 48. An inserted leaf with a note by F. Nicolai: ‘Here part of the 1st scene is wanting’.
8. f. 51. Act II, sc. 3. The stage direction ‘In abito composto, con soldati’ (H-G., p. 46) is not in the MS.
9. ff. 104-107. Sc. 7. The words of ‘Qual nave smarrita’ (H-G., p. 102) are written by a copyist. The original words began ‘Speranza gradita’ and the air was followed by recitatives for Zenobia and Radamisto and an air (‘Senza luce’) for the latter, all of which are crossed out.
10. f. 116. Act I, sc. 1. ‘L’ingrato non amar’ (H-G., p. 122).
11. f. 119. Sc. 3. ‘Con la stragge [sic] de’ nemici’ (H-G., p. 126).
12. f. 122. Sc. 11. ‘Segni di crudeltà’ (H-G., p. 137).
