f. i is a note by F. Nicolai. ff. 19v, 22v, 49v, 59v, 64v and 66v are ruled with staves but otherwise blank.
Points of note:
1. f. 6. Act I, sc. 6 (H-G., p. 7). The passage in dotted brackets is in the MS.
2. f. 17v. Sc. 6. The end of Bertarido’s recitative (from ‘che non è’, H-G., p.21, line 1) is on f. 25. The recitative ends with a crotchet, a minim rest and a double bar.
3. f. 18. ‘Dove sei’ begins with four instrumental bars not in H-G.; part of the recitative is missing.
4. f. 20. The recitatives (‘Ma giunge…l’antica mia’) (H-G., p. 23) are on f. 25v.
5. f. 20v. Sc. 7. ‘Ombre, piante’. Seventeen bars of a different setting (not in H-G.) partly crossed out, followed by the setting in H-G., p. 24, which omits many marks of piano and forte. The passage from H-G., p. 25, line 4, bar 5 to p. 26, line 1, bar 6 is on f. 23.
6. f. 24. The end of the setting of ‘Ombre, piante’ on f. 20v, followed by another setting of the recitatives (‘Ombra…amore’) (H-G., p. 27), crossed out.
7. f. 34v. ‘Fine dell’Atto Primo’.
8. f. 39v. Act II, sc. 3. At the end of Gariboldo’s recitative (H-G., p. 45): ‘Segue l’Aria di Rodelinda Spietati io vi giurai’ (not in the MS), followed by an air for Soprano (not in H-G.): ‘Ben spesso in vago prato’, which begins like ‘Scacciata dal suo nido’ (H-G. p. 63).
9. f. 41v. Sc. 4. (H-G., p. 48).
10. f. 50. Sc. 5. (H-G., p. 58). ‘Luogo delizioso’ is not in the MS.
11. f. 61v. Sc. 7. The duet ‘Io t’abbraccio’ (H-G., p. 72) is indicated, but not in the MS.
12. f. 62. ‘S’armi a miei danni’ [sic]. Air (T.), not in H-G.
13. f. 65. ‘Del mio brando si veda’ [?]. Air (A.), not n H-G.
14. f. 67. Act III, sc. 1. (H-G., p. 75, version A).
15. f. 81. Sc. 4. (H-G., p. 89, first version).
16. f. 84. Sc. 5. The recitatives end at ‘Al tuo periglio’ (H-G., p. 93, line 4) and are followed by an air (S.) ‘Verrete a consolarmi’, not in H-G.
