Points of note:
1. f. 10. Act I, sc. 1. ‘Un caro amante’. A cut of two pages hads been made between H-G., p. 13, line 2, bars 3 and 4.
2. f. 17. ‘Libera chi non è’, aria (H-G., p. 124) follows the recitatives (H-G., p. 19).
3. f. 22. Reversed in binding.
4. f. 31. ‘Fine dell’Atto 1mo’.
5. f. 32. Inserted leaf, a note in the hand of F. Nicolai: ‘The beginning of the second is missing’.
6. f. 33. ‘Act II. ‘Io gl’altri debellar’. Air (Alto), not in H-G. MS. Note [by Dr. Burney]: ‘The words of this air are not in the Libretto printed in 1726’.
7. f. 36. Sc. 1. The instrumental Introduction (H-G., p. 35) is missing. [To be found in Alessandro, R.M.20.a.5.] The scene originally included recitatives for Rosalba, which are transferred to Ernando.
8. f. 37. ‘Braccio si valoroso’ (H-G., p. 37) has a second set of words, written above the voice part.
9. f. 39v. A cancelled recitative for Rosalba, which leads to ‘Pensa o bella’ (H-G., p. 43) (with the original words ‘Dolce speme lusinghiera’ cancelled).
10. f. 41. Sc. 2. As n H-G., p. 41.
11. f. 43. Sc. 3. Follows the end of the recitative (‘…e di furore’ on H-G., p. 43).
12. f. 57. Sc. 8. Version A in H-G. (p. 63).
