Between ff. 40 and 41 is a single leaf, ruled with staves but otherwise blank, foliated 40a; ff. 49v and 51v are ruled with staves but otherwise blank.
1. ff. 1-6v. ‘Mi palpita il cor’ ‘Cantata a Voce Sola con Oboe’ (HWV 132) (partly printed in H-G. LII B, p. 132-155. The MS. contains the whole Cantata). Author of the text unknown. See also below, and R.M.20.g.8. (ff. 1-6); for copies see Add. MSS 29484 (ff. 56v-59v), 31574 (ff. 29-34v).
2. ff. 7-8v. ‘Ho tanti affanni in petto’. Air (A) in D major with Traverso obbligato and continuo. From ‘Mi palpita il cor’, but a different setting from that in the preeceding number. Not in H-G. For a copy see Add. MS. 31574 (ff. 29-34v).
3. ff. 9-31v. Fragments of the Cantata (circa 1709) with instrumental accompaniments for an expected European peace which would result in the Archduke Charles becoming King of Spain. ("Echeggiate, festeggiate, Numi eterni", cantata a cinque con stromenti HWV 119). (Cf. Robinson, Percy, Handel and his Orbit, London, 1908, pp. 204-211). (Partly printed in H-G. LII a, p. 47). The MS. begins in the middle of an air for Soprano (‘Sempre è infelice chi’l vuo seguir’). f. 10: ‘Astri, Sfere, Destino’. Recitative for Giove (S.). f. 10v: ‘Straggi lutto incendi, e morte’. Air for Giove, incomplete (the above are not in H-G.). f. 12: ‘Io languisco’ (H-G., p. 47). Author of the text unknown.
4. ff. 32-40v. ‘Splenda l’alba’. Part of a Cantata for A. (in Soprano clef), with instruments (HWV 166) (H-G. LII a, p. 69). Author of the text unknown.
5. ff. 41-49. ‘Cecilia, volgi un sguardo’. Part of a Cantata for S. and T., with instruments (HWV 89) (H-G. LII a, p. 78). The air: ‘Sei cara’ (H-G., p. 85) is missing. ‘E ben degna’ (H-G., p. 90) is version B. The end of ‘Tra amplessi’ (from H-G., p. 93, line 1, end of bar 2) is missing. Author of the text unknown. See also R.M.20.f.12.
6. ff. 50-51. ‘Sei del ciel’. Air for A. ‘Sigr. Annibali’, with violin (from the cantata a voce sola "Carco sempre di gloria" HWV 87) (H-G. LII a, p. 96). The recitative in H-G. is not in the MS. Author of the text unknown.
