Points of note:
1. f. 1. ‘Ouverture to the Song for St Cecilia’s Day by Mr Dryden. 1687.’ ‘begun Sept. 15, 1739. [Here is the astrological symbol for Saturday].
2. f. 3v. The Allegro is followed by a Minuet (a version of which is printed in Walsh Book I. of ‘Handel’s Favourite Minuets’ (circa 1755), p. 56): this is crossed out in pencil, and followed by the Minuet in H-G., p. 6.
3. f. 4. ‘From Harmony’ (and elsewhere in the Tenor solos): ‘Mr Beard’.
4. f. 13. ‘What passion cannot Music’ (and elsewhere in the Soprano solos); ‘Sra Francesina’.
5. f. 25. ‘The soft complaining flute’. ‘E sordini’ (H-G., p. 39) is not in the MS.
6. f. 26v. ‘Sharp violins proclaim’. Written in the Tenor clef, with Beard’s name against it. There seems to be no reason for allotting it (as in H-G., p. 43) to Tenor or Soprano.
7. f. 34v. ‘The dead shall live’. The passage in dotted brackets in H-G., pp. 63-71, is in the MS.
8. f. 42. ‘Fine. G. F. Handel Septembr 24. 1739. [Here is the astrological symbol for Monday]’
