The MSS. of both works are foliated in pencil by Handel [?dubious]. ff. 42v, 72v and 73v are ruled with staves but otherwise blank.
Points of note:
1. f. 3. ‘tous les Hautb.’ (H-G., p. 3, line 2) is written below the 1st Violin and 1st Oboe part.
2. f. 42. ‘S.D.G. G. F. H. Londres ce 14 de Janv. v[ieux]. st[yle]. a 1712’.
3. f. 50v. The MS. from the end of H-G., p. 52 to the end of p. 54 is missing. On f. 51 is a note by Nicolai " There are 23 bars wanting at the end of this movement".
4. f. 52. ‘Be ye sure’ (H-G., p. 55), ‘Mr Hughs’ (Alto 1); ‘Mr Whale’ (Bass).
5. f. 53. ‘We are his people’. A pencil note refers to the last leaf of the MS. (f. 73), on which is another ending to the duet, from the end of H-G., p. 57, line 2, bar 2.
6. f. 58v. ‘For the Lord’ (H-G., p. 66). ‘Mr Elfurth’ (Alto 1); ‘Mr Hughs’ (Tenor); ‘Mr. Whale’ (crossed out); ‘Mr Gates’ (Bass).
7. f. 72. ‘S.D.G. G. F. Hendel… 1713’. The date has been cut by the binder.
8. f. 73. See supra, note to f. 53.
