On f. ii is a list of contents; f. 36v is ruled with staves but otherwise blank. ff. 1-13 are copies in Handel’s hand of movements from Antonio Lotti’s Missa Sapientiae [see Music & Letters, 70: 4 (Nov. 1989), p. 537].
1. ff. 1-9. ‘Gloria in excelsis’ in G major for S.S.A.T.B., Oboe, two Violins, two Violas, Basses and Organ (HWV 245). The words only occasionally written. It is probably a copy, but has not been identified. It is not from one of F. J. Habermann’s masses. [Lotti]
2. ff. 9v-13v. ‘Kyrie eleison’ in G minor, for four voices, two Violins, two Violas, Basses and Continuo. Unfinished, the words very rarely indicated. Probably a copy, but unidentified. Not from one of F.J. Habermann’s masses. [Lotti]
3. ff. 14-22v. ‘Mottetto, a 6 voci per ogni tempo ex Ψ 79. Del E. D. Giovanni Legrenzi di D. Giovanna fran.’ ‘Intret in cospectu tuo’, for S.S.S.A.T.B., with figured bass. [in Handel’s hand]
4. ff. 23-36v. ‘As pants the hart’ (Chapel Royal Anthem VId, HWV 251d). Anthem for S.A.A.T.B.B. and figured bass (H-G. XXXIV, No 6d p. 277; Hallische Händel-Ausgabe III/9, 1992). A copy, written (according to Chrysander) by the younger Smith [now generally agreed to be autograph; Add. MS. 30308 has the autograph of No 6c]. The following names of singers are given: ‘Mr Hughs’ (Alto 1); ‘Mr Bell’ (Alto 2); ‘Mr Wheley’ (Bass 1); ‘Mr Gates’ (Bass 2).
