ROYAL MUSIC COLLECTION. Duets and arias; 18th century. A collection of 55 vocal pieces, the first is a Latin motet, the rest are excerpts from Italian operas, written in the same hand throughout and by various composers. In score, with a bass figured for harpsichord, and other instruments as stated below. Nos. 5-18 and 28 are entitled ‘Queste Arie tirate della Camilla Trionfante, Opera del Sigr Giovanni Bonocini, che fu rappresentata nel Real Teatro di San Bartolomeo di Napoli nel’Anno 1697’ [Marc’Antonio Bononcini, not Giovanni as in the text]; nos. 29-50 are entitled ‘Arie tirate dell’Eraclea opera del’ Sigr Alessandro Scarlatti, fatta nel anno 1700’.
