PETTY PAPERS. VOL. XXXVI (ff. 148). Papers arising from Petty's dealings with Richard Talbot, Earl of Tyrconnel, and Sir Richard Nagle, Attorney-General of Ireland, over changes to the land settlement in Ireland in favour of the Roman Catholics, and related papers of 1687; 1686-1687. Some of the items in Add. 72882 above also relate to the question of raising money to perfect this settlement. See Petty-Southwell Correspondence, pp. 213-214, for an interview in July 1686, in which Petty had urged money compensation in preference to disturbance of the existing settlement.
