(1) Letters from the Duchess to Sir David Hamilton, M.D., physician to Queen Anne, relating to her vindication, and intended to be read to the Queen, including (f. 91) a single note from Hamilton, and (ff. 39-49b) extracts from The Impartial Secret History of Arlus, Fortunatus and Odolphus (1710) and other political satire; 1710, 1711. Followed (ff. 95-106b) by a list of the contents of Hamilton's diary. The list and excerpts from the letters are printed in the introduction and appendices of The Diary of Sir David Hamilton, 1709-1714, ed. P. Roberts, Oxford, 1975. ff. 1-109.
(2) Vindication compiled by Gilbert Burnet, Bishop of Salisbury (see the Duchess's note, f. 179b), concerning her conduct at Court, 1683-1711, and based in part on the narratives in Add. MS. 61422 above; 1711. Autograph (ff. 110-153), and copy with corrections by the Duchess (ff. 154-179b). Followed (ff. 180-185) by a copy of a letter to Burnet from the Duchess concerning the vindication, [May-June 17111 (printed in Private Correspondence, II, pp. 110-115), and (f. 186) a list of criticisms of it by the Duchess. The introductory section of the vindication (ff. 154-159) is printed in Churchill, Marlborough, I, Appendix A. ff. 110-190.
