"A SHORT VIEW of the State of Ireland from the yeare 1640 to ye yeare 1652": a transcript of a work published in 1719-20 under the title of The History of the Rebellion and Civil Wars in Ireland, . . . by . . . Edward, Earl of Clarendon. On f. 114b is copied part of a letter (cf. Stowe 82, f. 161) from Lord Anglesey to Dr. Sall on the use of this work by Dr. Borlase in his History of the Execrable Rebellion, etc. (1680); Drury Lane, 22 Mar. 1679[80];-and at f. 1 is inserted a letter from Dr. Bulkeley Bandinel to the Marquis of Buckingham on its authorship; Bodleian Library, 4 Mar. 1820. Another similar transcript is in Sloane MS. 3838. Pape; ff. 114. End of XVIIth cent. With book-plate of Algernon Capell, Earl of Essex, 1701. Folio.
