" ANNALS of Church affaires happening vnder the reigne of king Henry the second, king of England, and of the contemporary outlandish Princes, togither with other famous occurrents of that time, deliuered in the words of the ancient authors themselues who writ the seuerall passages. Wherein (among other things) will appeare what courses wore continued against the Ghospellors, who were then the visible professors of that religion which is now called Protestant, and allso what was the generall arid most receiued doctrine of the Church of Rome at that time. Collected by T. Hearding, Batchelour in Diuinity." Imperfect, ending in the year 1175. The Introduction is apparently autograph; together with the marginal notes, etc., and the following note on the fly-leaf (f. l b), "The effect of this booke is to demonstrate cheifely how God hath defended, euen in those days, the Ghospellors . . . against the might, spight and slights of the Deuil and all his Instruments." On the back of the title-page (f 3 b) is a licence for printing from the Committee of the House of Commons " for examinacion of bookes," etc., 6 Apr. 1641, signed by Sir Edward Dering. The work, however, does not appear to have been published. Paper; ff. 104. Circ. 1640. Belonged to [Sir] Anthony Irby [Knt., ob. 1670], and Thomas Astle, 1764. Folio.
