Copies,some of them in the hand of T. Astle. The first eight (with the exception of that of George II.) were printed after Chesterfield's death, with the title Characters of Eminent Personages, 1777. Preceded (ff. 1, 2) by some remarks by Horace Walpole (in his own hand) on George I., Qu. Caroline, Sir R. Walpole, and Lord Bath, and followed (f. 22) by a -Printed obituary " Scetch of the character of Earl Temple" (ob. 1779). Paper; ff. 22. Late xviiith cent. Bound in crimson morocco, tooled.
