RICHARDS COLLECTIONS. Vol. II. (ff. 19). A Diary by the same of the siege of Buda, from 15 June, 1686, down to its capture on 2 Sept. ; continued to the return of J. Richards to Vienna on 17 Sept. Among the generals, etc., mentioned during the siege are.-The Duke of Lorraine; Field Marshal Count Guidobald von Starhemberg; Count Archinto; the Duke of Croy; Count Taaffe; Gen. Donneval; Gen. Commercie; Gen. Meyrell; Gen. Sheuts; Ahmet Pacha; and, in the English contingent, Mr. Fitz-James and Mr. Negas. Among the killed are named:-Capt. Rupert, Mr. Wiseman, Mr. Moore, Capt. Talbot, Col. de Fontaine, and Mr. Kerr; and among the wounded:-Lord Mountjoy, Lord George Savile, Col. Forbes, Capt. St. George, and Capt. Bellis. For another copy see Harley MS. 4989, said, on the fly-leaf, to have belonged to James II. The diary was printed at London in 1687.
