EXTRACTS from the Pipe Rolls, made by Peter le Neve, Norroy, as follows:-
1. Extracts relating to Sheriffs' accompts, scutage, fines, etc.; from the Pipe Roll, 3 John [1201-2]. "This Pipe Roll lyes in the Talley Court in the Exchequer . . . 1702." f 1.
2. " Excerpta quædam e magno rotulo Pipe ad dignoscendum verum tempus scriptionis ejusdem et ad indagandam antiquitatem . . . 1718." The Pipe Roll referred to is that formerly ascribed to 1 Hon. II., then to 5 Steph., but now generally recognised as that of 31 Hen. I. (ed. Rev. Joseph Hunter, 1833). f 14.
3. Extracts from the Pipe Roll of 2 Hen. ll.; edited for the Record Commission by Rev. J. Hunter, 1844. f. 33.
4. " Omissa in Rotulo Pipe anni quinquagesimi secundi Regis Henrici tertii." f. 44.
5. Extracts from " Rotulus magnus Pipæ de anno 5to Regis Stephani"; similar to those from the same Roll contained in art. 2 above, and made apparently for the same purpose. Preceded by a transcript from the " slip of parchment" stated by Hunter (ed. cit. pp. vii., viii.) to be then (1833) attached to the original roll, refuting the old opinion which ascribed it to 1 Hen. II. in favour of the date 5 Steph. f 59. Paper; ff. 61. Early xviiith cent. Belonged to Thomas Martin of Palgrave, and to Thomas Astle. Folio.
