ff. 1r–84v: A volume of collections relating to the Crown regalia and jewels, annotated throughout by the antiquarian Thomas Astle (1735–1803).
ff. 1r–54v: Extracts from the Patent Rolls, Wardrobe Accompts, and other public records, from the reigns of John to Henry VI, including (ff. 11r–23v) a list of the jewels belonging to the shrine of St Edward the Confessor at Westminster, 51 Henry III [1267]. ff. 39r–54v is a printed document in French listing Henry V’s jewels, from the parliament roll of the 2nd year of Henry VI’s reign (1423–4).
ff. 55r–68r: Inventory of ‘certeyn Iuells of sundry natures giuen by the Kinges Maiestie vnto Quene katheryne [Howard] his moost derest wif at the tyme of the solempnisation of theire graces marriage: and delyuered in charge by his graces commaundement by Nicholas Bristowe his highnes clercke to Anne Herbert sauefly to kepe the same: mense Iulii anno regni dicti domini Regis xxxiido [1540].’ Written and signed by Nicholas Bristow. With contemporary marginal notes concerning the disposal of some of the items, and notes by Astle, who was given the volume by the Reverend Michael Lort in 1772.
ff. 69r, 70r–78v: An inventory of jewels, etc., copied from a document which ‘seems to have been written in the time of Queen Elizabeth.’
ff. 79r–80v: A description of Rymer’s collections, annotated by Thomas Astle.
f. 81r: Note about an inventory of jewels owned by a queen, perhaps Mary II, bought by Lord Peterborough.
f. 82r: Printed advertisement, ‘A list of his Majesty's Regalia, besides plate and other rich things, at the Jewel-House in the Tower of London’, from the reign of William III.
ff. 83r–84v: Memorial in French concerning the jewels of Mary II, bought after her accession, claimed by the English government as belonging to the Crown, c. 1715.
