Copy of the statutes of Trinity College, Cambridge; drawn up, as appears from the preamble (f. 3) dated 4 Cal. Apr. 2 Eliz. [29 Mar. 1560], by Matthew Parker, Archbishop of Canterbury, Sir William Cecil and others, who lately visited the University at the Royal command. Latin. This preamble is quoted at length in that of the revised statutes issued in 1844 (see Documents relating to the Univ. and Coll. of Cambridge, 1852, vol. iii. p. 411). At f. 1 is the signature of Zachary Pearce, [Bishop of Bangor 1748, and of Rochester 1756-1774]; and at f. 2 is a letter concerning the statutes from George Holmes, Deputy-keeper of the Records in the Tower, to Lord Chancellor Macclesfield, 5 Apr. 1717.
