ESSAY on the dignity of Trade, showing the high opinion in which it has been held in all ages, and that it is as honourable a pursuit, and as likely to lead to advancement, as any of the learned professions. There are two versions of the essay, in different hands, one having been crossed through with a pencil; with additions and corrections apparently in the hand of the author. At the end of the second copy is the date 1747. Printed anonymously, under the title A Treatise on Trade: or the antiquity and honour of commerce, etc., London, 1750. Paper; ff. 89. Small Quarto.
