1. Vellum leaf of a 13th cent. MS., containing Amos i. 9-13, with commentary (cf. Harley MS. 1700). In the margin is the name of Thomas Burdett, of Purstoun Jacklyne [Purston Jaglin, co. York]; and, with other scribbling of the 16th cent., "The Idol of Winchester Stephen Gardiner [Bishop, 1531-50, 1553-1555] . . . Bowllynge of Sherburne vicar full well dothe the love." f. 1. 5. "An account of the bulls, pardons, indulgences, dispensations, absolutions, and other instruments contain'd in this volume" (old No. 841). On f 21 b is a note by T. Astle, stating that most of them belonged to Thomas Martin [of Palgrave].
