Endorsed in a 12th-century hand, ‘Eadgyua regina’; in another 12th-century hand, ‘Quomodo ediua regina recuperauit culinge quam postea dedit conuentui ecclesie cristi cant’.’ and ‘.anglice.’; and in a 14th-century hand, ‘Anno .m.l.’

‘RECORD of the title of Queen Eadgifu [third wife of Eadward the Elder] to land at Culing [Cooling, co. Kent], bequeathed with its charter to her by her father Sigelm, but mortgaged for thirty pounds to Goda; and, after the settlement of disputes with Goda, at Æglesford [Aylesford, co.
