Quitclaim by Margery, daughter of Elias the porter of Burton, once the wife of Ralph the clerk of Stapenhill [Derbyshire], to John of Branston [Staffordshire] and his wife Petronilla of a bovate of land and a croft in Branston. In return, John gave Margery 4½ marks of silver.
Endorsed: in a late 13th-century hand, ‘Quiet clamacio Marg[er]ie fil[ie] Elye Janitor[is] / de Burton[ensis] f[a]c[t]a Joh[an]nes de Brondeston de un[a] bovata t[er]re cu[m] p[er]t[incenci]s [et] crofto adiat[entibus] in ead[em] villa’; in a 16th-century hand, ‘Bronston’.
