Keith Papers. Vol. xlv (ff. ). Correspondence of Keith as Receiver General of the rents of the Principality of Scotland and Secretary to the Prince of Wales; 1783-1808. Mainly letters from Lawrence Hill and his brother Robert, and William Inglis, Keith's agents. Comprises general correspondence relating to the affairs of the Principality, concerning in particular Keith's powers to bestow the Prince of Wales' patronage, including a history of the appointment of the Prince's advocate and agent, 1793, and the arrangements regarding Keith's commission as Chamberlain and Receiver General and its bearing on his eligibility to stand as a Member of Parliament. The volume also includes Keith's commission as Keeper of Game in the Principality of Scotland, 1785, and letters concerning arrangements to have Keith's daughter Margaret Mercer Elphinstone served heir to her grandfather.
