1. Letters to Alvarez from his wife, Anne, sent during his visits to Australia and the U.S.A.; 1968 and 1970. With a postcard from his son, Adam, 1968, and a letter from his mother, Katie, 1970.

2. Correspondence, etc., with Barbara Barr and Montague Weekley, daughter and son of Frieda Weekley afterwards Lawrence; 1974-1980, n.d. The letters from Barbara, who was the mother of Alvarez's first wife Ursula, relate mostly to immediate family matters, but the volume also contains her extensive notes about the Weekleys, Frieda and D. H. Lawrence, an article published in The Twentieth Century (March 1959), an interview which Alvarez conducted in 1978 with Montague Weekley, etc. For the 'Portrait of Frieda Lawrence', broadcast in 1961, see Add. 88563, 88564, for the D.
