TERRIER of the Augustinian Priory of Blythburgh, co. Suff., made in the first year of the reign of Henry IV (30 Sept. 1399-29 Sept. 1400) by Prior John Hetyngham. Arranged alphabetically in order of places. Latin. A typewritten English translation of parts of ff. 1-2b is at ff. iii-v. Vellum and (ff. iii-v) paper; ff. v + 12. 350 mm. × 250 mm. A.D. 1399- 1400. A single gathering of fourteen leaves, 2 and 6 cancelled. On ff. 1-12 a contemporary foliation, 1-13, lacks 2. There is a series of letters in contemporary hands on the versos, viz.:- E, f. 1b; o, f. 2b; m, f. 3b; a, f. 4b; g, f. 5b; T, f. 6b; h, f. 7b; r, f. 8b; n, f. 9b; s, f. 10b; t, f. l lb; w, f. 12b. Bound in two conjoint leaves of a mid-14th cent. noted Missal of Sarum use, written in double columns of thirty-four lines, with rubrics, blue initials and red penwork decoration, containing masses for Monday and Tuesday of the first week in Lent (ff. i-ib) and the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday (ff. ii-iib), see Missale.. .
